A Journey of Cloth and Dye – Ecolution of Taiwanese Fiber Art. Combining ecology and evolution,
“ecolution” contains both the “Exhibition of Taiwan’s Natural Dyes and Fiber Exhibition” and the “Taiwan’s Fiber Art Innovations Exhibition”.
Taking Taiwanese natural dyes and fiber cultural development as the “longitude”, and Taiwanese contemporary fiber art
innovation as the “latitude”, this exhibition explores evolutions and innovations led by dye and fiber artists in an era of change.
The exhibition presents the past, present and future development of Taiwan’s natural dyes and fiber industry
in a complete and detailed sense from a macro perspective.
The 120 sets of exhibits build on craft “production” and expand on “ecology” to deliver the aesthetics of Taiwan’s crafts
and the overall value of cultural heritage. They present Taiwan’s ambition of constructing a sustainable dye and fiber craft industry,
and highlight the topical nature of Taiwan’s culture.
